Stranger than Semi-strangers

So last night my friend Ro (the chump in the middle) came in from Oakland. He was dead tired from riding on “The 5″ all day, and kept on talking about these cool girls who were also in town for the weekend. Sometimes, you have to kick his ass to get him to actually do […]

My musical taste spreads

You all know how I love going home to see my extended family over the holidays. Is good times. I’ve been giving the kids in jr high & high school music for the past few years now, trying to make sure they don’t get into the asinine pop that pervades today’s youth. The kids in […]

Still funny, still weirder than most other movies

So I walk in the door after driving up from pingpong’s family residence. (By the way, I completely missed the 280 on-ramp, and had a fun time meandering around the surface streets until I made my way back to the freeway. I then went north, as opposed to towards SJ which would have been quicker, […]

Settlers Online

Apparently Settler’s is making it’s debut into the world wide web. The reviews of it don’t seem too flattering yet, but I wouldn’t really expect a board game to port well anyways. Somehow, having the computer randomly generated dice rolls just aren’t the same. Still, it provides entertainment for work.

If I ever get a talk show, you are all invited

With the sudden departure of Craig Kilborn from CBS’s Late Late Show CBS is using guest hosts and rotating them in and out. I happened to catch a bit of tonight’s show, with special guest host Bob Sagat.
In his monologue he made plenty of jokes about America’s funniest home videos, such as:
“I was priveleged […]

More Yaaaarrrgggghhh than you can shake a cutlass at

On the rumor mill this week is Pirates of the Carribean 2&3. Not only is the entire original cast returning including the undead-to-live-to-dead Geoffrey Rush.
Can I get a amen:
“Yaaarrrgggghhhhh!!”
Not only is Johny Depp’s father going to be played by immortal guitarist Keith Richards. Can I get an amen:
“Yaaaarrrrggggghhhhh!!!”
Word comes down the pipe that […]

I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for girls.

But in this particular instance, I mean in terms of music. I find myself listening to certain groups more than others, and those groups often have female lead singers, if not two. I’ve touched upon this point before, but to summarize my current rotation of female vox:

Lockjaw - Dance Hall Crashers - Elyse & Karina […]

The kxvu cripple review

As I sit here at work, wearing my stylish black splint for my right hand and typing about 75% slower than usual I thought I would spend some time giving first impressions of the only game I can play in my current state.
First off, the injury occurred in goal on Wednesday night. […]

To paraphrase the Doggfather

Listening to the radio this morning, I heard a sound bite that roughly went as follows:
“This is Snoop Dogg with a holiday warning. Don’t smoke the mistletoe. No matter how good it looks, that stuff is harsh.”
Makes me vaguely sad Doggy Fizzle Televizzle only lasted a season, but not really.
