Gonna be a busy final lap

Well I announced to everyone at work that I am leaving at the end of December to pursue a career in teaching. Check out this timing, in the last 2 weeks all this stuff happened:
- Our CSO is going through a divorce and is putting her house on the market.
- One of our PhD’s […]

Worst Airplane Neighbor…EVER

Some of my best friends are Germans, so don’t think me a racist just for what I’m about to say next.
If every Hun were as obnoxious as this goddamn kraut I sat next to on the plane yesterday for six hours, I would’ve indicted the entire damn population at Nuremburg. Sausage munching Kaiser Dieter, […]

Notebooks suck, but movies are good

I’ve been catching up on my notebook half the day in order to have it completed before I give notice that I am leaving the company. I had to go sign out a new notebook in the middle of this and I noticed the last person to sign out a notebook was me. […]

* No way I’m taking anything more in Accounting, ever. Think Tax law, but without rationality.
* Game theory is wonderful, not least because so much of it was discovered by […]

Borat scoop

Well, not a scoop exactly, but I don’t think it’s common knowledge that in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, the main character is speaking primarily (a muddled version of) Hebrew, and his manager speaks primarily (a muddled version of) Armenian.
Changston, fluent in both, can back me […]

Paycut imminent

Well I’m in, all other details to come later. That is basically what the one page letter from SDSU told me. Checking the website the official start time for that semester school-wide is the week of January 16th, so I will probably work till just after the new year so my health insurance […]
