a note on updating the archives

In this small amount of time between study and work, I’m going to make a push to get as much of the old posts up as possible.  I’ve been going at it slowly, reconstructing the comments as individual comments for each post.  That takes a lot of time, but I don’t want to lose the comments. So, for the rest of these updates, I’ll just copy-paste the comments to the end of the body of the original posts, under the fold.

I know you all care so much.

(Ed. addition, 8/2/09)  This is going so much quicker now it’s absolutely wonderful.  I’ve already gotten through 3 months of posts in the past day.  This includes Cannon starting to blog here, a number of job hunting experiences, and just general malaise.  We used to write a lot more about video games.  I still need to figure out how to get images linked-to in the old posts, although I think Pacrand emailed me how a little while back.

For the record, the original *.txt file in which I have all of the old posts is 1297 pages long. In the editing copy of the posts, I delete the posts I restore to the site and continue to work from the top of the document.  The editing copy is down to to 847 pages

Down to 750 pages. I just looked at a post about George RR Martin and giving him slack for being slow on A Song of Ice and Fire. I’m, no longer patient, the man needs to fscking finish and publish the next damn book!

684 pages.

My spelling used to be rather careless.
